Magic Caster Wand duelling
If you have a friend with the Harry Potter: Magic Caster Wand and mobile app, you can host or join a duel. You'll both need to be in the same location and connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
Note Duelling isn't available with child accounts.
Gameplay
- Players: 2
- How it works: A player hosts a duel and another player joins. Both players are prompted to cast a duelling spell at the same time (the spell comes from the host player's Spellbook). The first player to successfully cast the spell wins the round.
- Goal: Each duel has 5 rounds. The first person to win 3 rounds wins the duel.
- Points: During a duel, you may earn some points for spells you haven't mastered. To learn more about mastery points, go to Earn points and level up.
You and your friend both need:
- The Magic Caster Wand and the Magic Caster Wand mobile app
Both players need to be connected to the same Wi-Fi network. Here's how:
- Android: Open the Settings app. Choose Network & internet > Internet (if needed), choose Wi-Fi and then choose a Wi-Fi network. For help, go to Google's Connect to Wi-Fi networks on your Android device article.
- iOS: Open the Settings app, choose Wi-Fi, and then choose a Wi-Fi network. For help, go to Apple's Connect to Wi-Fi on your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch article.
Tip Before you duel, practise spells from your Spellbook. You'll want to be quick and accurate. You don't want to accidentally conjure up a boggart!

Duelling FAQ
If you need to leave a duel, choose the X (upper right) and then confirm that you want to end the duel. You'll keep any points you earned during the duel.
If your opponent starts a duel and you can't join, here are some things to try:
- Make sure you and your friend are connected to the same Wi-Fi network. If you need help, see the Before you duel section above.
- iOS: Open the Settings app, search for Magic Caster Wand, and make sure Bluetooth and Local Network are both turned on.
- Make sure your wand is connected to the Magic Caster Wand mobile app (there should be a Wand connected icon
at the top of the screen).
- Check the strength of your Wi-Fi signal. If a Wi-Fi network with a stronger signal is available, both players should try switching to the stronger Wi-Fi network.
